COMICS
- Comic book series style exploration -
In the pre-production phase, as the pieces of the story for my Ayla comic book series were unrevealing to me, I started to experiment with the visuals. Questions of style, the level of stylization, and coloring style all lingered. The answers in which direction to go, I believed, would reveal themselves in due time. Here are glimpses of the images born from this experimental process.
I created several flash fiction episodes for myself in pre-production phase to feel out the style. This is discarded now, but the episode script will be used now that the style is set.
Among all the drawing tablets I've tried or own, my favorite for work is the iPad Pro with a paper-like screen protector. It comes incredibly close to the feeling of drawing on real paper. Plus, using Procreate is not only intuitive, but the replay option is a blast. This particular piece is from the pre-production phase when I knew the main character would be a girl and that she'd encounter South Slavic mythological creatures.
