- The Hand of Merlin, cutscenes -

Biggest challenge about doing these cutscenes was that I had to make them in engine… that works only with 3D elements. So all transitions except fade-in/out were hand made to mimic something that would be walk in the park in e.g. After effects. Still proud on how it turned out, and in the small time frame I had to make it work.

This is how it looks like in engine, still a bit sad that I didn’t have enough time to make those flat image planes into 2.5D models, so I simply played with parallax effect.

Here you can see a few shots from the animatic. With this we got the feel for what kind of voice actor we need, what kind of music and the pace of the cutscene.

Here at the end you can see 3 small Zone transition cutscenes.
